What is AFS 2023:15?

Mandatory medical certificates

All workers operating at heights in wind power and rope access must hold a valid medical certificate proving their physical and mental fitness for the job.

Medical examinations every two years

To comply with AFS 2023:15, medical assessments must be conducted at least every two years, or more frequently if work conditions are particularly demanding.

Individual health assessments

Medical certificates are issued based on a personalized health evaluation, where a physician assesses the employee’s physical and mental health as well as their ability to handle the job’s physical demands

Special requirements for high-risk environments

Wind power and rope access work require specific abilities such as balance, vision, hearing, and coordination. These factors are considered during the medical assessment.

Employer responsibility

It is the employer’s duty to ensure that all employees undergo the necessary medical evaluations and hold valid certificates. Failure to comply can lead to serious workplace risks and legal consequences.

If necessary, we can also supplement with relevant blood and urine samples. The laboratories we work with have test stations all over Stockholm so you can go to the one that is easiest for you, most have drop-in times where you can leave samples when it suits you, so you don’t have to think about fasting for your visit with us.

In some chronic diseases, such as diabetes, we may need to collect information from your treating doctor, if you give your consent we can often do so by phone already on the same day. If you know that you have a medical condition that may be an obstacle or require extra consideration for your certificate, please bring medical records, and we can make a faster assessment and write a better certificate.
